These Colombian guys started out in 2002 and now they come up with their second album: “Madhouse’s Macabre Acts”. They classify their style as “pure porn butcher slamming brutal death”. Lets see what’s true about that!

Well it sure is brutal; the CD begins with a sample which ends with referring to the album’s title where after the double bass and deep grunts immediately kick in. This continues the whole album with the interference of some samples; it gets a bit boring and one-sided at the end but the tight musicianship makes up for that.

The production of the bass drum, which is off course very essential when hit so many times, really reminds of the “Stop at Nothing” album from Dying Fetus; it is too high pitched to really give the music extra power. Also musically Carnivore Diprosopus is much like Dying Fetus with its grooving riffs and many high notes in the riffs. Contrarily, it isn’t possible to hear ány word from the lyrics; it’s more like long sounds, though it is effective.

From all the artwork, song titles and samples you can clearly tell that these guys want to be as brutal as possible but they don’t really manage to create a really macabre vibe. The music gets the adrenaline pumping through your veins but a sample like the one at the end of “Skinned a Crazy Fat”, where you hear someone being sliced into pieces, brings a smile on your face instead of adding some brutality.

To round off I would say that Carnivore Diprosopus managed to make a nice, well listenable album, but they haven’t got a refreshing sound and only a band like Cannibal Corpse can get away with that. Also, they do not manage to create such a believable gruesome vibe as the bands they follow.

I like this record, I don't think originality is that important, and in my humble opinion there are more bands than cannibal corpse that shouldn't change their approach on music.

I agree that also a band like Bolt Thrower shouldn't change their sound because it works excellent allthough they are doing it for years. But bands like Bolt Thrower and Cannibal Corpse where refreshing when they put out their first albums, Carnivore Diprosopus isn't and from young bands I like to hear something new.

No problem, sledgehammer, that's just your opinion! Still, I really like your review and your style of writing, no comments on that man, I just like this band
